ZYN UK cans carry a row of dots as a quick strength guide: 3mg is 1 dot, 6mg 2 dots, 9mg 3 dots, 11mg 4 dots, 13.5mg 5 dots and 16.5mg 6 dots. Some cans we stock use a different marking, so the mg per pouch figure is the one to go by, and the only one that works across brands.
What Does MG Per Pouch Mean?
MG per pouch is the amount of nicotine in one pouch. Some titles also show mg/g, the nicotine per gram of pouch. ZYN Mini vs ZYN Slim
Mini
ZYN Mini is the small, discreet pouch, and it feels noticeably drier because its recipe has no added water. Mini pouches weigh about 0.4g and come mainly in 1.5mg, 3mg and 6mg, with 20 pouches per can. The extra low 1.5mg cans are sold in 10 and 20 pouch versions. Slim
The larger, moist pouch is called Regular on ZYN's UK site and Slim by most retailers. It covers 6mg up to 16.5mg, and a can holds 20 or 21 pouches depending on the batch. If you are used to Mini, expect a noticeably moister pouch.
Which ZYN Strength Should I Choose?
ZYN itself groups its strengths into Low (1.5mg and 3mg), Medium (6mg and 9mg) and Strong (11mg and above). As a starting point:
- New to nicotine pouches: a 1.5mg or 3mg Mini, such as Citrus Mini 3mg.

Are ZYN Spice Pouches Actually Hot?
Yes. Guava Spice pairs fruity guava with chili, and Cactus Spice mixes cactus and lime with a chili character. The warmth is part of the flavour, not a sign of extra nicotine.
Old ZYN Names: Chili Guava, Icy Blackcurrant and Espressino
ZYN has renamed several flavours, most of them in its 2025 UK refresh:
- Chili Guava is now Guava Spice, still at 11mg

How Do You Use ZYN Nicotine Pouches?
Break the seal on a new can, take out one pouch and place it between your upper lip and gum. A tingle is normal as the nicotine and flavour release. There is no need to chew or swallow it.
ZYN says most pouches last around 25 to 30 minutes. Take it out sooner if it feels uncomfortable, and keep used pouches in the lid compartment until you can bin them. Use one pouch at a time, and take extra care when moving up to a stronger can.
Is ZYN Snus? Does It Contain Tobacco?
